NOTICE TO ALL MUSKOWEKWAN FIRST NATIONS MEMBERS CUSTOM ELECTION ACT REFERENDUM

Notice is hereby given to the electors of the Muskowekwan First Nation that a vote will be held to ratify the Muskowekwan First Nation Custom Election Act on September 23, 2016. The poll will be open from 9:00am – 8:00pm at the Muskowekwan Band Hall.

Any voter who is unable to vote on September 16, 2016 can request a Mail-In Voter Package by calling Reta Guilbault, Ratification Electoral Officer, at 306-220-9468 or by email at retag@sasktel.net. Mail-in Voter Packages must be requested on or before August 31, 2016.

Please be advised that an off-Reserve elector can vote in person at the polling station on the day of the referendum instead of voting by mail-in ballot. Voters who have received a mail-in ballot will be required to return the ballot or complete a declaration of lost ballot in order to vote in person. Only one ballot from each eligible voter will be accepted.

All eligible voters, 18 years of age or over as of September 23, 2016, who reside off-Reserve and who have provided a current mailing address are hereby provided with this Mail-In Voter Package, including a mail-in ballot and Voter Declaration form. Both the ballot and the Voter Declaration form must be fully completed, the Declaration Form must be signed, and both the ballot and Declaration Form must be returned in the enclosed self-addressed envelope addressed to the Ratification Electoral Officer at 30 Trident Cres, Saskatoon, SK, S7M 0P8.

Any eligible Muskowekwan First Nation member who resides off-Reserve and who has not received his/her Mail-In Voter Package by August 25, 2016 should contact Reta Guilbault directly.

Immediately after the close of the poll at 8:00pm on September 23, 2016, the Ratification Electoral Officer will count all ballots in the presence of the Muskowekwan Electorate and officially declare the results of the vote.

Sincerely,
Ratification Electoral Officer
